Are you struggling with early morning wake-ups?
Is your child waking up multiple times a night and staying awake for longer than 15 minutes?
Does your child only nap for 30 minutes and then wake up?
Do you dread bedtime, or does your child dread bedtime?
I've been there, and I know how it feels. A child's bedtime should be the start of a parent's downtime, but when it becomes a lengthy process that sometimes ends with the child waking up shortly after, it can be frustrating. It doesn't need to be that way! We understand how important it is to get a good night’s sleep. Here are some ways we can help you:
Work with Amanda to get to the bottom of your sleep concerns!
A pediatric sleep coaching consultation typically starts with a comprehensive questionnaire about your child's current sleep patterns, behaviors, and any challenges you're experiencing. We will delve into the bedtime routine, your child's sleep environment, and factors such as diet and nap schedules that may affect their nightly sleep. I will offer customized guidance, providing practical strategies to establish healthy sleep habits that are tailored to your family's unique dynamics. Whether you are interested in sleep training or just need guidance without using sleep training methods, I can assist in creating a plan.
I will use all of this information to develop a personalized sleep plan to help your child transition from nighttime shenanigans to peaceful, restful sleep. By the end of our session, you will feel equipped with the tools and knowledge to overcome sleep challenges and create a conducive sleep environment.
I will be available to provide as much or as little support as you need once you implement your personalized sleep plan.
A detailed guide to sleep. It is broken down into two guides; Newborn Sleep Guide and Guide to Sleep 4 Months and Older.

These guides are a culmination of my experience as a night doula and my extensive knowledge of sleep. They include practical tips, insights into structuring your day, understanding sleep averages, delving into sleep science, determining awake windows, and creating your ideal daily routine. Trust me, there's a wealth of valuable information in there!

About Amanda
(she/her)
I've been working with kids and their families for over 15 years now. I fell in love with the postpartum phase and became a postpartum night doula. Working overnight with local families was my thing. Every morning driving home from work, I felt great. I was leaving behind a well-rested family to enjoy their day with their newborn, not in a sleep-deprived state. In 2013, I became a mom and recently, I became a foster parent. My child has a disability that prevents them from attending in-person school, so I had to step away from in-person doula work to focus on them. I am thrilled to have found a way to return to that and assist parents while still being there for my child.
I have recently become certified in pediatric sleep coaching and expanded my knowledge of sleep science. Children often don't get enough sleep. I've personally witnessed the positive impact that proper sleep can have on a child's development and overall well-being. By combining my experience as a doula with pediatric sleep coaching, I can offer comprehensive support to families during this crucial stage in their lives. This support includes personalized sleep plans, education on healthy sleep habits, as well as ongoing guidance and support.

Questions?
-
I understand that seeking help with pediatric sleep can be challenging. While a sleep training book can be helpful, it may not cover unique situations or specific questions. A compassionate sleep trainer is like an open book, ready to offer non-judgmental advice and support for your concerns.
-
That is okay; I can still create a sleep plan for your child without sleep training methods. Instead, it will have healthy awake windows and ideal schedules and rhythms for your day.
-
Yes! This is the best part of remote work. I can assist you from anywhere in the world. I am internationally certified.
-
Absolutely not. I have a wide range of effective methods to assist your child in learning to self-soothe and sleep independently. The "cry it out" approach is only utilized in a very limited number of cases, and I assure you that I would never insist on it if it doesn't align with your preferences. I will guide you through various techniques, and together we will select an approach that best suits your family. Furthermore, I will personalize the chosen method to specifically cater to your child's needs.

I specialize in caring for newborns and infants, but I can assist children of all ages. I only have one method that I prefer for older kids but it's effective 75% of the time!

In most cases, parents notice significant changes in their child's sleep patterns within the first week of implementing the recommended strategies. Sometimes, these changes become apparent within the first couple of days. However, it's important to remember that every child is different, and results may vary. While I don't want to set unrealistic expectations, it's worth noting that many parents have reported a decrease from three nightly wake-ups to just one in the initial days of trying these methods.
